FAQ

  • What is Microblading?

Microblading is a cosmetic tattooing technique in which a special pen or tool is used to manually create individual hair-like strokes on the eyebrow area. The strokes mimic the look of natural eyebrows and can be filled with a semi-permanent pigment to enhance the overall appearance of the brows. Microblading is considered semi-permanent as the pigment is implanted in the upper layers of the skin and can last anywhere from 6-18 months before fading. It is often used as an alternative to traditional eyebrow tattooing, and is considered to be a less permanent option for those who want to enhance the appearance of their eyebrows.

  • What is Ombre/Powder Eyebrow?

Ombre or Powder brows is a cosmetic tattooing technique that creates a gradual shading effect on the eyebrows, giving them a powdered, filled-in look. The technique involves using a machine or manual tool to deposit pigment into the skin, filling in the brows with a soft, blended color. The result is a more defined, fuller look that resembles the appearance of naturally filled-in brows using makeup.

  • Do I need a touch-up?

It is extremely likely. Within the first two weeks of the initial procedure the color fades as much as 30-40% and the eyebrow might look patchy and uneven. After this period, typically between 4-8 weeks, a follow-up appointment is done. The touch-up procedure is much less time consuming as the initial one. As well, any changes you would like to make may be discussed.

  • How long does it last?

The results can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years. Many factors can affect this time frame, such as the clients type of skin, proper care of the brows after the procedure, and many others. It is recommended to have a touch-up procedure done annually to retain the proper shape and saturation of pigment

  • Is it Safe?

Absolutely! We only use sterilized, disposable needles and supplies.

  • How long does it take to heal?

Healing time varies from individual to individual. Usually, it takes about a 7-10 days for the epithelial crust to form and slough off. Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. The pigment will then take some time to settle into the skin, a good month should pass before the procedure is considered complete.

  • How long does it take?

The procedure lasts roughly two hours but may be longer or shorter. Please allow a solid 3-hour window for your appointment. It likely will not require that much time but is not something that can be rushed.

  • Does it hurt?

When it comes to the pain level of Permanent Makeup (PMU) procedures, people have different levels of sensitivity. It is challenging to give a definitive answer. However, a topical anesthetic is used before and during the treatment to minimize any discomfort. Some clients may find that one brow is more sensitive than the other. During the procedure, you may hear a scratching sound, which is normal. To help relax during the procedure, music is usually played, but you can also bring your own headphones and music if you prefer.

  • Will I need a Touch Up?

Yes most likely, the color of your Permanent Makeup (PMU) is likely to fade after the initial treatment. Within a week, you can expect the color to fade significantly and over the next 4 to 6 weeks, it may continue to fade by up to 50%. This is considered a positive outcome as it gives you time to evaluate the shape and color and make any desired changes. After this period, a follow-up appointment is scheduled, during which any changes or adjustments can be discussed.
